Governors

The Governing Body is responsible for ensuring that the school runs effectively, operates within the a framework set by legislation and complied with Local Authority (LA) and Welsh Government policies. 
The body's main aim is to ensure that all pupils at Ysgol Glanrafon have opportunities and are challenged to achieve their potential.  During our meetings, staff present information about the school and development plan and governors ask challenging questions about the purpose and impact of activities.   

A governor is someone who: 

interested in learning, teaching and children; 
represents people in the local community and school staff; 
is part of a team that accepts responsibility for everything a school does; 
with time to commit to meetings and other occasions when necessary; ready to learn; 
can be a friend who supports and challenges the schools by keeping track of how the school works and the standard achieved 
acts as a link between parents, the local community and the school.
